ARDBEG SUPERNOVA, 2019 RELEASE, SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY

One of 2019's most hotly anticipated releases of the year, Ardbeg Supernova is finally here! Some may recall the first Ardbeg Supernova launch in 2009-this topped the charts as the peatiest Ardbeg ever released and was snapped up in record time, but the Supernova story didn't end there; in fact, it became even more extraterrestrial. In October 2011, Ardbeg was the first brand to send whisky into space, and the whisky spent three years orbiting before landing in Kazakhstan on September 12th, 2014. In honor of this experiment, Ardbeg launched (pun intended) its fourth Supernova bottling in 2015 and most of us thought this would be the final release in the Supernova series. If you haven't heard the whispers and rumors over the past few months, the cat is officially out of the bag. There is indeed a new iteration of Supernova and it has finally arrived (for our Concierge customers at least). Though most of you are likely familiar with Ardbeg-famously dubbed by whisky critic Jim Murray as "the greatest distillery on Earth"-those of you who aren't as familiar are in for a treat. Trust us: there's peaty scotch, and then there's Ardbeg. Ardbeg is the smokiest Single Malt in regular production, yet it is also known for its complexity, supreme balance, and beautifully long finish. The 2019 Supernova release is bottled at 53.8% ABV and has eclipsing peat and smoke, underscored by powerful, concentrated flavors of aniseed, menthol, salted caramel, and chili. This is a phenomenal, mind-blowingly intense whisky that is classic Ardbeg. We're thrilled to be able to offer first dibs on the 2019 release of Ardbeg Supernova, and of course, we have a special price to sweeten the deal. 
 

Dr. Bill Lumsden, Master Distiller for Glenmorangie and Ardbeg made history earlier this year when he was awarded the International Whisky Competition's title of "Master Distiller of the Year" for the third time. Often joking about his "low boredom threshold," Dr. Bill has a whisky imagination that is remarkable. His many labels are internationally recognized and loved, but he continually experiments with new types of production and aging practices to craft avant-garde styles of whisky. Just when you think you've tried everything there is to try, Dr. Bill will release something unexpected. In the words of the distillery, the 2019 Ardbeg Supernova will "transport your taste buds to peaty parts unknown." This committee release is a highly allocated, collectible product that we've been able to obtain for our Concierge customers, but Ardbeg fans will want to act quickly to secure their bottles before we sell out!
